The most exclusive Toro by Marcos and Miguel Eguren. It comes from a small plot of 1.8 hectares of pre-phylloxera strains of the Tinta de Toro variety. The soil, extremely calcareous and covered with pebbles, contributes to the fineness and silkiness of its tannins. The small clusters, obtained in a warm and dry vintage, were shelled by hand by a team of 70 people. The wine underwent a long aging, the first months in an “ovum” – an egg-shaped oak vat –, followed by 24 months in 3 new French oak barrels. Teso la Monja is an extraordinary wine with great elegance, complexity and persistence, with a very limited production. This is an oenological jewel that enhances Spanish viticulture with great elegance, complexity and persistence, with a very limited production.
