Agusti Torello Mata Rosat Trepat Brut Cava Reserva DO 2020 – fruitful, well balanced sparkling wine.

Agusti Torello Mata is a famous family business founded in the 1950s in the Penedes region. Agusti Torello Mata, son of tailors and musicians, opened the first wine analysis laboratory in Sant Sadurni at the age of just 18. 1978 he created his own masterpiece of sparkling wine, the Crypt, recognized as one of the finest Cava in the world. The winery now owns 100 hectares of vineyards and is run by its children, Alex and Gemma, but Agusti Torello is still active. This winery has high quality standards – the vines must be at least 30 years old. Macabeo grapes are grown on the coast where they ripen best, Xarello in central Penedes and Parellada in the mountains.

Agusti Torello Mata also keeps its traditional Cava with yeast longer than others – at least 3 years.

Agusti Torello Mata Rosat Trepat Brut Cava Reserva DO 2020 is an unconventional wine, as it is produced using only Trepat berries grown in the Sant Joan de Mediona area. 8-day maceration (contact with skins) gives the wine a cherry red color and light tannins. This Cava is produced by the traditional method, where the secondary fermentation takes place in a bottle. Stored with yeast for at least 24 months.
