An historic Chilean family run vineyard & winery. Miguel Viu Manent worked as a wine merchant alongside his father and brother since the 1930s before venturing out on his own. In 1965 Miguel purchased this already historic vineyard, and his family still maintains control to this day, a rare thing in Chile. One of the best sites in the region, with pre-phylloxera vines from France.
A ripe fruit juice that has a certain delicacy that enchants from the nose with its herbal and fruity notes to the palate, where the pleasing texture is lightly interrupted by tannins that barely prickle on the tongue (although they are present). The rest is juiciness, fruity flavors, and a finish with a delicate herbal tone. This Viñedo Centenario is a selection of vines planted more than 100 years ago on the Viu family's property in San Carlos de Cunaco, in the center of the Colchagua valley. The blend is 60% cabernet sauvignon and 40% malbec.
