Figuero Milagros de Figuero

$75.00

Availability: 1 in stock

Milagros de Figuero is a wood-aged red wine made in the D.O. Ribera del Duero, in Castillo y León with the Tempranillo variety by Bodega Figuero.

Viñedos y Bodegas García Figuero is a family project in the municipality of La Horra (Burgos) with 80 hectares of vineyards. This is an exclusive selection of 21 plots of old vines aged over 60 years old and growing in a continental climate. The result is delicate, elegant and very fruity wines.

Milagros de Figuero comes from old vineyards planted 802 metres above sea level in soils composed of silt, sand and gravel and with a wide variety of plant species. The yield is limited to 1 kg per vine and the harvest is carried out manually and meticulously in 12 kg chestnut baskets.

The Milagros de Figuero grapes undergo a cold skin-contact maceration for 2 days at 12ºC. Fermentation is spontaneous with a controlled temperature of 29ºC, with two daily pump-overs. The wine then ages for 16 months in 500-litre new French oak barrels. Finally it is bottled and stays in the winery for 18 months before being released for sale.

A faithful reflection of the Tempranillo variety and made in the Bordeaux style, Milagros de Figuero is this winery’s most elegant and delicate wine. Excellent Ribera del Duero personality.

(Red, Spain, Ribera del Duero, Tempranillo)
